Ancient Reghinna Minor is situated in a narrow inlet and is home to the most significant evidence of Roman presence on the Amalfi Coast: the maritime villa, a rare and splendid example of a Roman villa by the sea.
Originally a small fishing village, but in the twentieth century considerable urbanization made Minori one of the little gems of the Amalfi Coast.
The economic and social life of the town developed around the Basilica of St. Trofimena, patroness of the town.
Minori has been an episcopal see for nearly a thousand years. In the Middle Ages it was one of the main shipyards of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi. For years the country’s economy developed around the activity of the mills: pulp and paper, but it is agriculture that has made a decisive mark on the history and appearance of this land. I terrazzamenti di muri a secco servono per la produzione di rigogliosi limoni da cui il Limocello.
Minori has become the city of taste, for its delicious range of food and wine productsand remains a pearl of the Amalfi Coast.
